Iceland 2014
Iceland is a country that was in my mind for many many years. Beautiful pictures appearing on the network attracted me the more the more I watched them. Until now, there was no opportunity to go and see this magical places. Always it was a matter of cost and mode of travel. For bike a little for long-distance, for car a little expensive ;)…..and how to please me :)…. Anyway it happened although this was not so obvious that I would go. It all began so….
Overwork, endless projects and continuously moving the date of departure….it was reality :(. Although I knew that friendly trio goes on a journey that I had no chance to travel with them. First, it turned out that not possibility to close all the work before the beginning of July and there are no tickets at a reasonable price 🙁 Actually, I gave up….and that’s when it turned out that the term, however, will be possible and that it appeared ticket promotion……I am lived to see 🙂
It succeeded fantastically…..I got a ticket in the same plane as the trio so I knew that would not be wasting time on site. Keflavik welcomed us with rain so typical in this country. Not only that we landed at night it was still raining….Iceland welcomed us beautifully :(. But all of us felt good mood. We didn’t wait for the sunrise, we packed bags and hit the road. Reykjavik was at the back, for later discovery – we had planned to do this at the end of our trip. I knew that the next three weeks will be beautiful but I didn’t suppose thet so different from my previous trips. What we have seen for a long time remain in our memories.
The first step of our journey leds to the western fjords so close if we think about distance and so far away from the beaten track, that it is hard to believe. I admit that this place became my favorite among those that I visited during this journey. What I liked?….That anyone discovered the next bend in the road, beyond which it is not known what will happen…and so again and again. The road quickly transforms into a gravel trail that leads to the end….where almost no people in the realm of nature…..there are few such places in the world. The further we were away from the airport time slowed….and then almost halted. I saw it in nature, in buildings, in people…it something I missed the most. Usually, that’s what I’m looking for but rarely feel…..This time it succeed and we spent a week here 🙂
